Order Cutoff Times

Same day delivery applies when you place your order by 12 noon Monday to Friday and 10am on Saturday.  Should this not be possible we will contact you promptly. 

We deliver to residential, businesses, hospitals, nursing homes and funeral homes.

Flower orders to residential addresses are generally delivered by 6pm and for businesses by 5pm, but note that exceptions may apply due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control including traffic conditions and courier availability.  The accuracy of the order recipient contact details including address details is important in ensuring our couriers can make the delivery.

Business deliveries will be made by 5pm provided accurate delivery details including company names, address and contact numbers have been provided.  We will do our best to effect delivery to a business address prior to 5pm should you nominate a delivery-by time, but cannot guarantee same day delivery if prior to 5pm.  Delivery on the next available business day may be made if the business is not open when our courier arrives.  If the delivery is to a school, nominate the time up to which the order can be received and we will do our best to arrange same day delivery and shall contact you should this not be possible.

Same day orders that are not possible due to traffic circumstances, stock supply issues or incorrect delivery details may be processed on the next available delivery day.

We will do our best to deliver the same day at all times and will contact you directly should this not be possible.

Recipient Not Available

It is important to include any specific instructions in the “Special Delivery Instructions" box during checkout.  This may include leaving at the front door, leaving under stairs or similar.  Our couriers will do their best to make a delivery to the recipient and provided accurate contact details are included will attempt to call the recipient should there be no answer at the door to arrange delivery which may include leaving the order with reception or with a neighbor where possible. 

The ordering system, by default, will in the event of the recipient not being available and not being able to be contacted or refusing to collect the order and our courier deeming there is no safe place to leave the order, ‘return the order to our shop’.  A re-delivery fee will be charged to effect delivery on the next available delivery day.  We will contact you first in this regard to arrange a further delivery attempt.

Our delivery policy is that if an order cannot be delivered due to the recipient not being available i.e. no one is home we will, upon your instruction at checkout, leave your order in a safe location where possible.  Should you instruct us not to leave the order if no one is home or our driver does not deem there is a safe place to leave the order it will be returned to Flowers by the Bay for re-delivery the next available delivery day.  Flowers by the Bay may charge a re-delivery fee for the next available delivery day.

Flowers by the Bay is not responsible if the order is left unattended and the order is stolen, damaged or deteriorates due to weather conditions.

Hospitals and Nursing Homes

Deliveries to hospitals and nursing homes may not be possible due to access restrictions i.e. intensive care or Covid 19 pandemic restrictions.  We will attempt to check with the recipient location should it be a hospital or nursing home prior to the order being dispatched to make sure that it can be received at that location and will contact you should delivery not be permitted at that time.

It is important that you provide the hospital name and telephone number and the recipient details including ward/room number.  Please note that many Intensive Care Units will not accept flowers for patients and some hospitals do not permit Lilies or balloons due to allergy issues.


We will always process orders to funeral services as a high priority.  It is important for you to include in the order details including the “Special Delivery Instructions” box the full name of the deceased, the name and address of the funeral home, and the date and time of the funeral and if possible a phone number and contact person for the delivery.

Delivery Charges

We deliver to all suburbs selectable in the order delivery checkout page and the delivery charge per suburb is nominated.
